Piping with Buttercream

Piping Pearl Borders on an 80's Cake

This type of buttercream can be piped out of a parchment paper cone with tip to make pearl dots or any other small decorative accent. In the above cake, it’s being used to trim an 80’s themed cake that’s decorated with modeling chocolate plaques. Below, it’s being used to pipe a cascading dot design on a sphere cake

    • Yes! It does get soft over time if you keep holding on to the piping bag though. The heat of your hand can melt the butter. To minimize this issue, work swiftly and don’t hold the bag except when it’s in use.
